Bafana Bafana to Face Zambia in Home Friendly Ahead of AFCON

Zambia Friendly to Sharpen Bafana Bafana Before Facing Egypt, Angola and Zimbabwe

FIFA World Cup-bound Bafana Bafana are set to lock horns with Zambia in an international friendly on Friday, 14 November 2025, as part of their build-up to the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco later this year.

The game will be hosted in South Africa, with the South African Football Association (SAFA) expected to announce the venue and ticketing information soon.

Placed in Group B for the AFCON finals, Hugo Broos’ side will battle Egypt, Angola, and Zimbabwe, opening their campaign against Angola on 22 December 2025.

Bafana head into this preparation phase buoyed by their bronze-medal finish at the 2024 AFCON in Côte d’Ivoire, where they edged DR Congo 6-5 on penalties in the third-place playoff. They have also booked their spot at the 2026 FIFA World Cup after sealing a commanding 3-0 victory over Rwanda in Mbombela last week.
