TS Galaxy’s efforts to strengthen their squad have suffered another setback after Zimbabwean defender Isheanesu Mauchi’s proposed move to the Rockets collapsed at the final stage.
Mauchi had travelled to South Africa to finalise his switch to TS Galaxy FC following a verbal agreement. However, the deal was not concluded after the player reportedly requested official confirmation that the club’s international transfer ban had been lifted — documentation Galaxy were unable to provide.
The Rockets remain under a three-window FIFA registration ban, confirmed in December 2025, stemming from a contractual dispute with Liberian player Jegbay Morris Konneh. The matter involves an outstanding payment of approximately USD 125,000, plus 5% annual interest, as ordered under FIFA regulations.
Until the issue is resolved and FIFA formally clears the club to register players, Galaxy cannot process new signings — a situation that continues to frustrate both the technical team and supporters.
For coach Adnan Beganovic, the failed deal adds to an already challenging period. The club has lost key players, including Puso Dithejane and Ndamane, yet has been unable to bring in replacements during the January window due to the embargo.
From the player’s side, Mauchi — who recently featured at AFCON with Zimbabwe — was keen on a move to the Betway Premiership but understandably sought clarity before committing his future.
For Galaxy fans, the focus now shifts to whether the club can resolve the FIFA matter swiftly and reopen the door for reinforcements in the next transfer window. Until then, the Rockets will have to rely on their current squad as they navigate the remainder of the season.
