Broos Names Final Bafana Bafana Squad for Zambia Friendly in Gqeberha

Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos has announced his final squad for the upcoming international friendly match against Zambia, set for Saturday, 15 November 2025, at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Gqeberha, Eastern Cape.

The fixture forms part of the 2026 FIFA World Cup-bound South African national team’s preparations for the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) to be held in Morocco later this year. Kick-off is scheduled for 15h00.

Broos explained his selection approach, noting the balance between experience and opportunity for emerging talent.

“There are a few new boys, and a few others are not there because I already know those players. I used this game against Zambia to call some new faces, to see them in training, assess their mentality, and determine whether we can count on them in the future,” said Broos.

The team is expected to assemble in Johannesburg on Monday, 10 November 2025, before travelling to the Eastern Cape for the match.
